I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a master’s degree in Human Computer Interaction and have 12 years of user experience design and interactive experience. I push myself to design and build the best experiences for any and all end users.
Currently, I am employed at Roku where I have had the opportunity to work on a suite of project areas across product platforms, Roku OS, Devices and applications, and finally Roku.com. As the Lead UX Designer I have created end-to-end experiences, working closely with stakeholders and our VP's, aligning with strategy, and leading the efforts for new product launches in fall of 2022 and Spring 2023. I have managed and mentored many of my junior UX team, building out new design systems and User Journey mapping for the redesign effort Roku.com.
Previously I was employed as the Lead UX Design/Researcher and Strategic Insight for Lurn Inc. . At Lurn I manage the UX team, implementing design thinking and strategy for the Lurn platforms. I have established an ongoing UX process that has enabled our product team to develop new features and capabilities for our E-Learning platform. I have lead the redesign effort for Lurn's new student dashboard and designed Lurn's new mobile application for student learning.
I have also worked for Excellus BCBS as a Senior User Experience Designer. Over my 5 years at Excellus I worked on several significant projects. I was the lead UX designer for the redesign of 2 web portals while simultaneously moving our entire web platform to a new system. In addition to moving the platform, I was also heavily involved with the creation and deployment of our new Mobile App web experience. I also lead the effort to champion new technologies to the company. By utilizing Adobe XD I created a new E-learning tool that could be used internally by employees, as well as externally by members on the web. I have also brought new concepts to my industry through gamification and incentive based applications to increase engagement of the end user.
In my professional past, I have worked with a variety of clients and design venues; some in team oriented groups and also on independent projects working one on one with a client. I pride myself on having a creative mind and that I am passionate about my work, but also willing to learn and collaborate with others on a team in the workplace. While working in an Agile environment, I have learned to adapt to each group’s design needs to ensure my work is valuable and effective in the process.
I believe in offering practical, strong design techniques and skills, effective solutions, and a full understanding of user feedback and research. My focus is on developing solutions that are visually appealing and in consonance with the vision and values of my clients.
What is User Experience (UX)?
UX research involves the process of human-centered design, to start with your user or customer first to design internal and external processes and digital systems that are simple to use, efficient, and will encourage your customers to want to come back. UX research saves you and your company time and money.
Human-Centered Design
There are many benefits to starting with the end-user first. Most importantly, you can use the priceless insights gained from research to increase satisfaction and create streamlined, easy transactions for your customers. This success empowers your employees to solve the correct problems for your customers and look to future priorities.
I am an experienced and trained user experience research professional who conducts remote and in-person research for digital projects. I specialize in producing unbiased, empirically based findings for product designs, prioritizations, and strategies throughout the whole agile software delivery lifecycle. I can uncover the usability problems that you are not hearing about and help solve them.
Improve the experience, conversion, and engagement of your users and employees by starting with data and insight. I will review and advise on an existing product in need of a redesign or perform testing of viability and development for a new proof of concept and prototype for a new product.
