Project Overview
This project was a board goal that was currently in progress when I was brought on to Lurn. The overall scope was to redesign the entire Lurn E-learning platform, forward-facing website, and design new community applications. The timeline of the project was pre-determined and was not able to allow scope creep without danger of missing end of the year deadline.
Role and Responsibilities
When I started work on this project I had to first establish use cases and new personas based off of analytics, user interviews, and pre-design work that was originally contracted by Lurn. At the start of the discovery phase, I was part of the research team tasked with conducting initial user research, collecting and analyzing feedback, overall heuristic analysis, and IA summary reporting. Once scope was established and work was segmented out, I manly focused on creating the new UX designs for the Member dashboard along with any secondary pages. Initial wireframes were then put through two stages of user testing and user feedback was collected at each session.
Product Cards
One key feature of this project was a user touchpoint through our "product cards". I redesigned this entire feature to not only function better for user interaction but also help build user association with the different products and material that Lurn offered. This user association was integrated throughout the site, helping with navigation, content identification, and mental mapping of feature structures.

Student Dashboard
A large push for this project was to re-engage with our users through not only the new course content but also through a more personalized dashboard experience. Initial user feedback showed user's disinterest in Lurn's material simply because the dashboard was a poor touchpoint for many of them. My goal was to redesign the dashboard around two things; one personalization based on user's own needs and interactions; and two, scalability of the platform. Adding in new features such as gamification and badge earnings help establish secondary goals for users to stay engaged through there learning experience. The dashboard itself was designed with other new features and content to be added in the future without breaking away from this new experience.
